Evaluating cancer polygenic risk scores in the Michigan Genomics Initiative
Cancer polygenic risk scores were associated with diagnoses of cancers and related conditions in the Michigan Genomics Initiative.
We tested cancer polygenic risk scores against diagnoses in 28,260 Michigan Genomics Initiative participants of recent European ancestry. The study in the American Journal of Human Genetics found associations with cancers and related conditions, including a link between a skin cancer score and actinic keratosis. These patterns motivated further work on how genetic and clinical information might inform risk prediction.
